Nearby is a national park Risnjak, picnic and green source. If you visit in summer, you can take a swim in the river Kupa and Dobra, or extend to the sea and swim in the beautiful resort of Opatija. In an hour you can be in the capital city of Zagreb or visit the stunning surroundings. In addition to enjoying the resort are open possibilities for a tour of the many Croatian sites and national parks. Possible activities are walking, cycling, fishing, swimming, fishing and rafting on the river Kupa, sledding in Kupjak and skiing and skating in the shares. Skrad is a small town and municipality in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County in Croatia. It is located in a hilly area of the central part of Gorski Kotar at 700 m above sea level. From Delnice is about 15 kilometers away and it has a population of 1000 inhabitants. Skrad is a relatively new village and was first mentioned in the late 17th century when it was founded by eight families of serfs who received land in the area of the former owners, the Counts Zrinski. The rapid development begins in the early 19th century after the completion of the Louisiana road that linked cities Karlovac and Rijeka. Sometime later was built a railway line which also enhanced economic growth and development of this region. The inhabitants are mainly engaged in agriculture, animal husbandry, forestry, and tourism, which has a long tradition. In the early 20th century thanks to the good transport connections, the natural beauty of the place and the favorable mountain conditions for respiratory diseases, Skrad became known health resort and tourist destination for health tourism and was built many hotels and pensions. Accommodation is offered in private apartments, rooms, holiday homes or in the cozy atmosphere of mountain huts Zeleni Vir and Skrad.
