Podstražje is the location of accommodation. It is situated on the southern coast of the island, 10 km away from the town of Vis, easily reached by an asphalted road. Podstražje is a small fishermen's village surrounded by greenery and well tended gardens. From the terraces you will have a magnificent view and the green hills arround this marvelous place. It is surrounded by beautiful coves, sandy and pebbly beaches and the crystal-clear sea. In the vicinity there is Srebrena (The Silver Beach) , one of the most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic. There are two nice green islands off the Rukavac Bay, one of them (Ravnik) there is the famous Green Grotto. Tourists can go on organized excursions by taxi-boats or visit various interesting places on the coast or in the interior. They will find numerous restaurants renowned for their Dalmatian specialities, particularly delicious, fresh fish barbecue.
