Pirovac was a medieval settlement and fortification of old croatian noblemen. It was mentioned for the first time in 1298 as a property of a Croatian peer family Šubić (11th – 14th century), which was related to Croatian kings Dmitar Zvonimir and Petar Krešimir IV. According to available information, this area was foothold of knights templars from Lake Vrana. It is a small, quiet town of 2000 inhabitants, renowned for wine production, with large marina, popular for family holidays and cycling tourism, and excellent location for excursions to national parks Kornati and Krka, nature park Vrana Lake (excellent freshwater fishing), and Šibenik (famous cathedral and medieval architecture). Located on the coast, between sea and nearby Lake Vrana, along a bay characterized by an unusual fact that sea temperature in it is 4 degrees higher than in the rest of Adriatic Sea, it’s a perfect destination for a lot of swimming and other summer enjoyments. End of the bay is famous for its healing peloids, richest in Croatia. Mild climate dominates over this area and provides nice warm summers and mild winters. The coast is characterized by its indentedness and numerous bays, clear beaches with pebbles or rocks, and islands adjoining archipelago of the National Park Kornati. House is situated in two-way street with easy access to intercity road, and no parking problem. Everything in town is accessible on foot within several minutes. For stays of 10+ days, a free boat trip to nearby bays and/or islands can be organised.
